AirMixa streams your Mac's audio output to your phone or tablet speaker in real time — so you can check how your mix sounds on consumer devices without bouncing files.
Mac: macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later
Phone/Tablet: Any device with a web browser (iPhone, iPad, Android — no app install needed)
Network: Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network
Check Screen Recording permission. AirMixa needs "Screen & System Audio Recording" permission to capture your Mac's audio. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording and make sure AirMixa is enabled.
Open the URL shown below the QR code manually in your phone's browser. Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
AirMixa prioritizes audio quality over latency. Around 500ms is normal — this is designed for checking how your mix sounds, not for real-time performance.
AirMixa is a menu bar app — it has no Dock icon. Look for the waveform icon in your Mac's menu bar at the top of the screen.
You can connect Bluetooth earbuds directly to your Mac — you don't need AirMixa for that. AirMixa is specifically for listening through your phone or tablet's built-in speakers, which is how most people hear music today.
